Daily Funny. We should make it a little easier to get U.S. citizenship, don’t you agree?

by wtk on October 2, 2008

Why make the citizenship test too difficult?  Would we really only want intelligent people, eager to learn and absorb the culture and history of the magnificent country they are about to swear allegiance too…?

Too Funny, from Snapped Shot:

New U.S. Citizenship Test

The Citizenship and Immigration Services has re-designed the citizenship test for immigrants who want to become naturalized Americans, revamping the questions for the first time since 1986.

The new test “demonstrates that they really are trying very hard to learn about this country. It will make them better citizens,” said Chris Rhatigan, spokeswoman for USCIS.

So, could you pass the test illegal immigrants must take before becoming a citizen? Here are a few sample questions:

    1. What is your name?

    2. Name one of the three colors on the American flag.

    3. There are 50 states in the United States of America. Name at least one. (Example: Texas)

    4. Does the Statue of Lady Liberty depict a male or female model?

    5. What U.S. President does the Washington Monument honor?
