Bolton: Obama Promises Bush III on Iran

Bolton 2012

The diplomacy he favors is exactly what Condi Rice has been pursuing for years.

“Present the Iranian regime with a clear choice” by using carrots and sticks to induce Iran to give up its nuclear aspirations. What does Mr. Obama think Mr. Bush and the Europeans have been doing? Does he really think his smooth talking will achieve more than Europe’s smoothest talkers, who were in fact talking for us the whole time?

Hamas: We’ll look at cease-fire which ceases Israeli attacks, lifts siege

No mention of cessation of rocket or mortar attacks.  No amendment of the Hamas Charter, which calls for the destruction of Israel.  No promise to prevent suicide attacks.  Just a call for Israel to lower her weapons, and submit to another cease fire that only Israel will observe.

From: JPost

Hamas on Wednesday announced that it was prepared to look into a cease-fire proposal in the Gaza Strip, on the condition that it would include full cessation of Israeli attacks, and opening of all crossings into area.

“The moment that we receive the proposal, we’ll look at it,” said senior Hamas official Ayman Taha. “We will support a proposal that will bring about a full cessation of attacks, and full lifting of the siege.”

Shortly before the statement was released, the Security Cabinet decided not to bow to international pressure for a cease-fire, and said that Operation Cast Lead would continue until its aims are met.

No Thanks.  Go get them Israel.

Hamas, and all who support, voted for, or simply look the other way… it looks like your days are numbered.  So run, hide in Mosques or hospitals, it won’t matter.  The IDF is coming.

It would be so nice if you all took to the streets, to call for Jihad, and for the fall of Israel.  Hamas, and their supporters, love to take the day off, to burn some flags and rampage through the streets…. So why are the Hamas cowards hiding these days….?  Hmmmm?

It appears that even Livni knows that the new American President will be far more sympathetic to the Muslims bent on destroying Israel.  That can be seen in his resounding silence thus far.

Hopefully, Israel will have Hamas mopped up by Inauguration Day.  Then they can turn their eyes to Fatah, Hezbollah and Iran.  These groups will have been shown that the days of Olmert are over, and Israel will no longer pull her punches, in the face of aggression.

Gettelfinger Wins

Once the Obama Administration takes office, the UAW will have a powerful ally against the Big 3.

Bush handed the Union a huge victory today.  Their stalling paid off.

Democrats, who don’t understand that unless car sales return to the levels they were at before the financial crisis, automotive companies cannot survive with current labor and legacy costs.  They beleive the Big 3 can save themselves by producing more expensive, smaller, greener automobiles.  Cars that people have not wanted to buy, in sufficient numbers, in the past.

Washington will not force the UAW to renegotiate their contract.  Detroit is doomed, sooner or later.

It’s too bad that the Big 3 don’t have negotiators as skilled, and daring, as Gettelfinger.

A last note on Obama’s birth certificate problems. Another lawsuit bites the dust

In humble opinion, there is something about Obama’s birth certificate that he doesn’t want us to see.  I doubt it’s his place of birth, but how can anyone know.  And why hasn’t the issue of eligibility, based on dual citizenship, been tackled by the courts?

I can only surmise that since his election, the powers that be are much more afraid of the social consequences of disqualifying Barack Obama, than whether he is, in fact, eligible for the job.

This article sums up the oddities of this issue, without sinking into conspiracy theory:

Diana West.net
In the spirit of continuing inquiry, a friend writes in with some common sense from the Northeast Intelligence Network blog, excerpted below:
Perhaps it is no coincidence that this article is being published on December 7th, 2008, the 67th anniversary of the attack on America by the Japanese at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on this day in 1941. Barack Hussein OBAMA contends that he was born in Hawaii, a claim that despite countless erroneous media reports and reckless, poorly researched postings on numerous Internet Blogs to the contrary, has yet to be proven by Barack Hussein OBAMA or anyone else named as co-defendants.
Of the three aforementioned lawsuits, two raise questions about his actual location of birth (Berg, Keyes), while the third (Donofrio) focuses on his citizenship status. (While this might admittedly be an oversimplification, I believe it is a sufficient characterization for the purpose of this article).
Instead, Barack Hussein OBAMA, in conjunction with the co-defendants, has reportedly spent between $800,000 to close to $1,000,000 (one million dollars), using at least three different law firms to fight these civil actions. Now, consider that each and every one of the lawsuits filed against him could be immediately dismissed by the mere production of a single piece of paper that is available to him for the paltry sum of $12.50 at a recorder’s office in Hawaii….
To me, Barack Obama’s choice of tactic–money-consuming, time-consuming, court-consuming, rumor-producing lawsuits in multiple states–is the most tantalizing fact of all. Why not pay Hawaii $12.50 to release his long-form original birth certificate?
(hat tip: FSM)
Bottom line: It sure sounds as if We, the People, are being conned–about something–and failed by our representatives on every level. Read article.

The final insult. Ethanol Industry Lines Up for Washington Help

An industry that could never sustain itself in the first place, needs more money than they’ve already gotten from the American Taxpayers.  On top of that, they would like to destroy the Auto Industry and worsen the food shortage while they’re at it.

From WSJ:

First, it was Wall Street. Then Detroit auto makers. Now, the nation’s ethanol producers, who have hit a rough patch with the drop in ethanol prices, are seeking help from Washington.

The Renewable Fuels Association, a trade group for the U.S. ethanol industry, has spoken with staff members from Capitol Hill and President-elect Barack Obama’s team and “provided them with some ideas on how to craft the language of” an economic recovery package, said Matt Hartwig, a spokesman for the RFA.

Hartwig said RFA has suggested a number of steps including setting up a $1 billion short-term credit facility so ethanol producers could finance current operations; a $50 billion federal loan guarantee program to finance investment in new renewable fuel production capacity and supporting infrastructure; and a requirement that any auto maker receiving federal aid only produce new vehicles that can run on any blend up to 85% ethanol, beginning with the 2010 model season.

The price of ethanol has dropped with the price of oil, squeezing producers’ profit margins. Critics note that the U.S. ethanol industry already benefits from a number of fairly generous federal subsidies, including a tax credit paid to gasoline producers for blending gasoline with ethanol; a federal renewable-fuel standard that sets a minimum amount of ethanol to be blended into gasoline; and a 54-cents-per-gallon tariff on imported ethanol.

The RFA is one of many business groups looking for help in the financial stimulus legislation expected to move through Congress early next year. It’s not clear how much support RFA has for its proposals; calls to several senior lawmakers close to the industry weren’t immediately returned.

“We’re not asking for a specific bailout, but rather, as a trade association, we’re providing ideas to an incoming Congress and a new administration about ways to bolster the domestic renewable fuel industry,” Hartwig said. “We’re doing what all trade organizations are doing - providing the Obama administration with ideas.”

UPDATE: Hartwig calls back to add that his group offered ideas to the Obama team after being approached by a transition representative seeking the RFA’s input on what should be included in an economic recovery package; “We are not, I repeat, not asking for anything or lobbying for anything,” Hartwig said.

Obama’s Secretary of Education if favor of gay high school. Self segregation is always the answer

If gay kids need there own high school, I assume we’ll need publicly funded Muslim schools, Mexican and Jewish high schools, and maybe racist, homophobic, white kids can get their own playground as well…… No?  Where does inane liberalism end?

From TownHall:

President-elect Barack Obama’s nominee to become Secretary of Eduction has supported specially designated high schools for gay, lesbian and transgendered teens.

“If you look at national studies, you see gay and lesbian students with high dropout rates…Studies show they are disproportionately homeless,” Duncan said at a October 2008 event where he recommended the gay school be built. “I think there is a niche there we need to fill.”

As Chicago’s Head of Public Schools Arne Duncan recommended  the School for Social Justice Pride Campus, Chicago’s first school for gay youth. Moreover, educators at this school believe it  could be a model for a national program for educating gay teens.

Advocates for the school ultimately expect 600 children will attend Pride Campus, which was scheduled to open in 2010 until members of the design team called off a critical vote on it in November, over conflicts between Chicago clergy members and school planners.

Information from the school’s website says:
The Social Justice High School–Pride Campus would improve on current conditions for LGBTQA youth in Chicago’s public schools and would be a national model for best practices in the education of LGBTQA youth.

We will teach the history of all people who have been oppressed and the civil rights movements that have led to social justice and queer studies…

Our school is dedicated to the principles of the hunger strike that brought the school into existence, namely social justice oriented principles and values such as truth and transparency, collective community power, struggle and sacrifice, and ownership and agency.

Vice-President Role to Shrink Under Barack Obama

Biden put out to pasture before term begins

Biden put out to pasture before term begins

of the American vice-presidency is to be downgraded with Joe Biden taking on a dramatically reduced role from that of his predecessors Dick Cheney and Al Gore.

By Toby Harnden in Washington
Last Updated: 8:32PM GMT 15 Dec 2008

President-elect Barack Obama and vice president-elect Joe Biden celebrate with supporters in Chicago Photo: REUTERS
Mr Biden is likely to be the least powerful vice-president since Dan Quayle, the hapless deputy to President George Bush Snr, who left office in 1993.
He will not be allowed to sit in on the caucus meetings of Senate Democrats or to have an office next to the House of Representatives floor, both privileges Mr Cheney was given by congressional Republicans.
He will not receive his own intelligence briefing each morning, as Mr Cheney did, or have a specific portfolio and a guaranteed daily lunch with the president, as Mr Gore negotiated with Bill Clinton.
The presence of Hillary Clinton, President-elect Barack Obama’s choice for Secretary of State, is likely to diminish Mr Biden’s voice in his specialist field of foreign policy.
Mrs Clinton is building a large staff of loyal aides and is certain to take advantage of a network of long-time allies from her husband’s administration who have been brought in by Mr Obama.
Although Mr Biden, 66, who has spent 36 years in the Senate and has never held an executive position, apparently views the change in his role as a necessary correction from what he saw as Mr Cheney’s unwarranted influence, some Democrats fear that he could become a marginal figure.
“It looks as if the new vice-president will be only one of many people with a seat at President Obama’s table,” said a prominent Democrat with close ties to Mr Biden.
“But he seems to be happy with the situation – he has no further political ambitions and I think he’s just overjoyed with getting the job.
“Hillary Clinton is likely to keep him boxed in on foreign affairs and Mr Biden himself has made clear what he feels about Mr Cheney meddling in intelligence matters. The vice-president elect will respect the constitution and the limits of his powers.”
A transition official, talking to “Politico” website, presented Mr Biden’s reduced role and his determination not to run a “shadow presidency” as a virtue for both him and the Obama administration.
Mr Biden had been clear from the outset “that he was not going to take a portfolio in particular areas” but he would be “available widely and broadly to offer his advice on whatever hard questions the president was trying to decide”.
The official added that Mr Biden was likely to attend many fewer meeting than Mr Cheney. “He’ll attend those meetings where he can he helpful in gathering information and in helping to formulate the advice he’ll be giving the president.”

Iran preparing for war? Obama gives Iran the green light on Nukes?

Iran is again flexing it’s military muscle, in the face of American Impotence.  President Bush needs to act immediately.

From IsraelToday:

In a sign that Iran intends to meet the international community head on in armed conflict rather than compromise over its nuclear program, the Islamic Republic has reportedly taken up strategic positions on a major waterway and tripled its long-range missile arsenal.

According to local sources and NGOs on the ground in Africa, Iranian troops recently took up positions in the Eritrean port city of Assab, which sits on the Horn of Africa where the Red Sea meets the Gulf of Aden.

In addition to enabling Iranian forces to threaten crucial shipping lanes, the position also puts Iran in a position to block US or European reinforcements in the event of war.

Meanwhile, Israel’s Channel 10 News reported on Monday that at the start of 2008 Iran had an arsenal of only 30 Shihab-3 long-range ballistic missiles. As 2008 comes to a close, Tehran says that it now can field more than 100 Shihab-3 missiles, giving it the ability to launch a protracted missile strike against an enemy.
(hat tip: CrossAction)

Iran is not in a position to impede the U.S. Military in anyway, if only we would finally strike this State that has been killing Americans for over 25 years.  We have yet to confront them in any way, other than sanctions and isolation.  How has that worked so far?  With Iran or N. Korea.

America needs to wake up before it’s too late.  Just today, President Elect Obama has proposed placing Israel under a nuclear shield.  This means that anyone who attacks Israel with nukes, will face an immediate and massive nuclear retaliation by the United States.  Don’t believe it for a second.

Israel is a one bomb State, meaning that it would effectively cease to exist after one detonation.  Does anyone really think that President Obama would order a nuclear strike, in defense of State that no longer exists.  No.  Obama has simply telegraphed his plan to Iran and the world, that he will not use military force to stoop an Iranian nuke.

If Bush had any strength left, he would stop this with strikes.  He does not.  Israel will have to go it alone.  And they need to do it soon.  They are out of time.

GUNS. Get ready for the Obama bait and switch

President Elect Obama thinks that gun owners are as stupid as the voters who elected him based on a one word slogan.  They’re not.  Gun owners know what’s coming, and if Obama was a true supporter of the 2nd Amendment, he wouldn’t have found it necessary to make an almost frantic plea for people to stop buying weapons before he can ban them.

From the Chicago Sun-Times:

Obama: Don’t stock up on guns

As gun sales shoot up around the country, President-elect Barack Obama said Sunday that gun-owning Americans do not need to rush out and stock up before he is sworn in next month.

“I believe in common-sense gun safety laws, and I believe in the second amendment,” Obama said at a news conference. “Lawful gun owners have nothing to fear. I said that throughout the campaign. I haven’t indicated anything different during the transition. I think people can take me at my word.”

But National Rifle Association spokesman Andrew Arulanandam said it’s not Obama’s words — but his legislative track record — that has gun-buyers flocking to the stores.

Barack Obama has a bullet proof voting record when it comes to guns.  He doesn’t want you to have them.  Obama hasn’t shown a great respect for the Constitution, and the 2nd Amendment is no exception.  If he truly believes that Americans have a right to bear arms, then why does he try and violate that right every chance he gets?  Does Obama try and curtail anything else laid out by the Bill of Rights?

  • Obama feels cities and states can constrain the right to bear arms through local laws
  • Obama endorsed the Illinois handgun ban
  • Obama supported the D.C. gun ban, deeming it constitutional
  • Obama wants to register and license all gun owners
  • Obama opposes consealed carry, with they exception of retired police officers
  • Obama wants to keep guns out of inner cities, where lawful citizens need them most
  • Obama supports renewing the assault weapons ban
  • Obama supports a ban of semi-automatic weapons
  • Obama wants to require manufacturers to provide child safety locks with firearms
  • Obama supports lawsuits against manufacturers, dealers or importers of guns or ammunition, seeking damages resulting from the misuse of their products by others  (from OnTheIssues)

You may not like the 2nd Amendment, Mr. Obama, but don’t forget the 10th:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

Translation:  When the Bill of Rights says “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed,” state governments are not allowed to infringe on or curtail the peoples right to own and carry guns in any way, beyond the punishment for crimes committed with them.

And remember the Declaration of Independence, the Founding Fathers were quite clear:

But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.

Mr. Obama, is there any part of our Constitution that you don’t want to ignore?
